Original Joe's staff create fundraiser
Staff of Original Joe’s (OJ’s) have made it clear that they take care of each other. Employees of the “down to earth and down the street” restaurant franchise have banded together to establish a fundraiser for the young victim of an assault that took place in Penticton, BC during the August long weekend. The victim was previously a resident of St. Albert, AB and also a past employee of the Original Joe’s in that community.
On Friday, August 26th and Saturday, August 27th, all Edmonton and area Original Joe’s locations will contribute one dollar from every pint sold of all five Original Joe’s draft beers directly to a fund for the victim and her son.
“The victim of this horrific crime is a single mother, and from what we understand, won’t be able to return to work for some time,” said Darek Ziemian from Original Joe’s St. Albert. “The team at OJ’s wanted to help out a past colleague - it’s a small way we can help to hopefully make her recovery a little bit easier.”
The Original Joe’s locations participating in fundraiser include all six Edmonton locations, as well as those in the area, including Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan, St. Albert and Stony Plain.
Individuals wishing to contribute independently to the family may forward contributions to the “Support for Penticton Hostage Survivors” fund which has been set up at TD Bank.
