Warm up & Wine Down extended into Feb.

Many of you enjoyed the half price wine deal on Saturdays during the last two months and it would break our hearts to have to call it quits for February.

So we’ve decided not to!

After all, February is Heart Month, and you know what they say about red wine. So come down to Joe’s on Saturdays for half price wine, treat a friend or a loved one, or simply enjoy a glass with your meal.

Cheers,

The Joe’s Team

Joe’s mixes up the menu

As Joe’s fans may have already noticed, we at Joe’s have recently made some enhancements to our menus. The style has changed, the layout is cleaner and we’ve enriched the menu with several new items that are sure to get mouths watering, such as our new Sgt. Pepper Burger and Shanghai Noodle Bowl. For those who are resistant to change, no need to panic; you can still order our signature items, such as our Thai Chicken Salad and Original Burger.

This new menu has been in the works for a while, so now that it’s finally made its grand debut we hope that you enjoy it as much as we do. We would love to hear your feedback.

Cheers,

The Joe’s Team

February Give Back Program

December marked the launch of our Community Give Back Program.  Every month a brand of beer is selected to participate, and 50 cents from each pint sold is donated to a local charity.

Due to popular demand, Big Rock Winter Spice has been re-selected for the month of February.  Proceeds will go to several food banks in various communities across Western Canada.

CHEERS to supporting great causes in our community!

Community Give Back Program Begins

The Joe’s team is excited to launch our new Community Give Back program just in time for the Holidays!

Each month a different brand of beer will be selected to participate in this new program where 50 cents of each pint sold will be donated to a local charity. Each Joe’s store has the ability to choose a local cause, such as a new playground or community event, or several Joe’s locations can team up and pool this money to support a larger cause.

To launch this new program, we have selected Big Rock Winter Spice – a great tasting, festive beer. This beer will run as the featured beer for the months of December and January. Proceeds from these two months will go to several food banks in varying communities across Western Canada. Post January, the featured beer and community causes will change each month.

If you have any suggestions or questions about this new program, we’d love to hear your thoughts.

Keep checking back for more information.

Cheers,

The Joe’s Team

Original Joe’s Opens New Location in Sherwood Park, AB!

We’re excited to announce the opening of our newest location in Sherwood Park.

To celebrate, Joe’s Sherwood Park will host a grand opening celebration on November 30th and December 1st. This will include special pricing on pints and our Joe’s burger, beer tastings and more!

We will be donating a portion of the grand opening proceeds towards prostate cancer’s “Movember” cause. Several of Joe’s Sherwood Park staff are participating in Movember, whereby men commit to growing a moustache to raise funds and awareness for men’s health. This is a fun way for us to support this cause and give back to the community, and we couldn’t be more proud of our staff for taking part.

If you’ll be in Sherwood Park November 30th - December 1st, be sure to stop by and join in on the fun.

Cheers!

Original Joe’s Edmonton locations announce “Beat the Heat”

There was a certain trade that was talked about this past summer that never came to fruition. It was a trade that involved three of the boys in copper and blue — Dustin Penner, Andrew Cogliano, and Ladislav Smid. In exchange for these three soldiers of fortune, the Oilers were to acquire a certain someone from the Ottawa Senators who now plays for the San Jose Sharks. Let’s call that certain someone “The Heat.”

The people at Original Joe’s here in Edmonton wanted to do something to “honour” the fact that the trade never happened, especially given the way PDP’s been playing this season. That’s why today marks the launch of the Beat the Heat charity campaign, sponsored by Original Joe’s, OilersNation, Global TV, Ignition Media, Just A Game, and Give Me Shelter.

Here’s how it works: any time one of Penner, Cogliano, or Smid scores, Original Joe’s will donate $100 to Give Me Shelter, which supports women’s shelters in Edmonton. Since it’s been an era since Smid’s last goal, Original Joe’s will donate $500 for Smid’s next goal and $100 for every subsequent goal.

At the end of the season, if the three Oilers score goals exceeding the total of their jersey numbers all added up, OJ’s will donate an additional $1,000 to Give Me Shelter.

Canada’s Largest Producer and Marketer of Wine Makes a Splash on Joe’s Menu

CALGARY, AB – NOVEMBER 13, 2009

We at Joe’s are pleased to announce the addition of leading wine brands from Vincor Canada to our menu, including Naked Grape, Sumac Ridge, Robert Mondavi and Ravenswood.

Vincor is the largest producer of wine in Canada, offering many labels you know and love. They’re a company with the same philosophy as Joe’s; offering a high quality product at a reasonable price, so we thought that Vincor products would make a nice addition to our menu.

Be sure to try a glass (or two!) of these newest additions next time you drop by Joe’s and let us know what you think.

Cheers!
